10月15-16日,教育部高等学校翻译专业教学协作组会议暨第七届全国翻译院系负责人联席会议在西安外国语大学召开,我校廖七一教授作为协作组成员出席了本次会议,翻译学院党总支副书记郭健代表学院参加了联席会议并做大会发言。参加会议的还有教育部高等教育司文科处处长刘向虹、教育部高等学校翻译专业教学协作组全体成员以及来自全国50所高校和业界的80余名代表。
会上,来自北京外国语大学的副校长金莉教授、教育部高等学校翻译专业教学协作组秘书长、广东外语外贸大学平洪教授,分别就外语学科发展与翻译学科建设、翻译本科教学理念、翻译本科专业教学要求做了深入阐述。
北京语言大学刘和平教授、河北师范大学李正栓教授、西安外国语大学贺莺副教授、四川外语学院翻译学院郭健副书记作大会发言,分别对各自学校的翻译人才培养模式作了详细介绍。郭健代表学院就翻译专业的发展历程、人才培养目标定位、人才培养特色及实践教学等方面向与会代表做了详尽介绍,受到与会领导及代表的充分肯定。
此外, 部分知名出版机构、语言服务供应商、翻译软件开发企业,就教材开发、实践交流、实习基地建设等议题作了大会互动。
全国翻译院系负责人联席会议理事长仲伟合教授在闭幕式上发言,他认为:本次大会很成功,各办学单位对翻译专业有了更新的认识,早期示范单位已经形成了自身独特的教学模式,产业界适应时代发展为专业发展提供了助力。今后一个时期的工作重点仍然是加强基本建设,包括强化人才培养理念,创新人才培养模式,加强专业课程建设,重视师资队伍改造与建设,丰富实践教学内容,加强校企合作,积极参与专业教材开发与建设,启动教学研究项目。
全国翻译院系负责人联席会议机制起始于2005年,旨在搭建平台,促进翻译专业学科建设,优化翻译专业人才培养模式,提高人才培养质量,更好地促进我国高校翻译专业教育事业的稳步、良性发展。
SISU’s Participation in the 7th National Joint Meeting
Of Translation Departments Directors
From October 15th to 16th, the Meeting of Professional Translation Teaching Group of Ministry of Education and the 7th National Joint Meeting of Translation Department Directors was held in Xi’an International Studies University. Professor Liao Qiyi from our university has attended this meeting as a member of the teaching group. Guo Jian, Vice Party Secretary of College of Interpretation and Translation (CIT) has attended and addressed the meeting on behalf of the college. Other participates were Liu Xianghong, Chief of the Art Section of the Department of Higher Education, MOE, all members of the Professional Translation Teaching Group of Ministry of Education, and over 80 other delegates from 50 colleges and universities.
At the meeting, Professor Jin Li, Vice President of Beijing Foreign Studies University and Secretary General of the Professional Translation Teaching Group, and Professor Ping Hong from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies have respectively elaborated the development of foreign language study and translation studies, the status quo of undergraduate translation programs, and the requirements of the undergraduate translation education.
Professor Liu Heping from Beijing Language andCultureUniversity, Professor Li Zhengshuan from HebeiNormalUniversity, Associate professor He Ying from Xi’an International Studies University and Vice Party Secretary Guo Jian of CIT, SISU delivered speeches respectively, described their own way of cultivating translation talents in detail. On behalf of CIT, Ms. Guo briefed participants of the conference on such matters as the history of translation as a major in college education, the goal and features of the training of translation talents, the ability-oriented teaching method and so on, which aroused keen interest among them.
In addition, a number of renowned publishing agencies, language service providers and translation software developers interacted with each other on such issues as the development of textbooks, translation practice, information exchange, and the development of intern bases.
Finally, Chairman of National Joint Meeting of Translation Departments Directors, Professor Zhong Weihe concludes the meeting with a speech at the closing ceremony. The meeting is, according to him, a great success which helps to lay a solid foundation for the better development of interpretation and translation as a major. He hopes that those who have formed their unique models of teaching will not be unwilling to share their experience with other counterparts. Based on the present situation, in his view, all institutions of higher learning should pay due attention to the following aspects: the reinforcement of infrastructure construction, the renewal of teaching philosophy, the innovation of teaching modes and methods, the improvement of curriculum design, the building of teaching brigade, the strengthening of cooperation between school and enterprises, and the launching of teaching research projects.
First held in the year 2005, the National Joint Meeting of Translation and Interpretation Department Directors aims at establishing a platform for the promotion of the development of translation and interpretation studies. During the past years, it has been making efforts to make it itself more fruitful and serve better the purport of cultivating advanced translators and interpreters of a better quality.
